Iran's Supreme National Security Council said it had finalized the framework agreement with the United States under the leadership of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, according to a statement published by Iranian news agency Tasnim on Monday.
The negotiations concluded on Sunday evening, the council said.
According to the statement, the framework agreement provides for an immediate end to hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. It also calls for the immediate and complete lifting of the US naval blockade.
The statement did not mention any concessions by Iran.
Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran's obligations under the agreement would only take effect after a formal signing scheduled for Friday, Tasnim reported.
In a separate report citing unnamed sources, Tasnim said the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened following the signing of the framework agreement.
The Supreme National Security Council is Iran's highest decision-making body and operates under the supervision of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and the leadership of President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Since succeeding his father following his death, speculation has persisted over the health of the 56-year-old Khamenei. Iranian state media have described him as a war veteran, but he has not appeared in public since assuming the position of supreme leader.
