Iran has warned Israel against carrying out attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut, with senior military officials threatening consequences if strikes go ahead.
The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Iran's military command centre, urged residents of northern Israel to leave the area "to avoid harm" should Israel attack Beirut, according to comments broadcast by state television IRIB.
Earlier, a spokesman for Iran's armed forces said on state television that Israel's war in Lebanon against the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement was no longer acceptable to Tehran.
He issued a warning to Israel and its "Western backers" but did not provide further details.
The remarks came after the Israeli military called on residents of Beirut's southern suburbs to evacuate ahead of possible military action.
A ceasefire in Lebanon is considered part of the broader negotiations between the United States and Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated on Monday that, from Tehran's perspective, the ceasefire between the United States and Iran also includes Lebanon.
