Is Arsenal v Real Betis on TV? Channel, kick-off time and how to watch pre-season friendly

Arsenal continue to prepare for their Premier League title defence with a friendly against Real Betis.

Mikel Arteta is still welcoming players back from international duty at the World Cup.

But with less than two weeks remaining until the Community Shield against Manchester City, a key test against La Liga side Betis awaits.

Confidence is high after a 4-1 win over Girona, thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus, Max Dowman and Christos Tzolis.

Here’s how Arteta’s side could line up and how you can follow along as the Gunners take shape before the Community Shield next week and that first Premier League outing against Coventry on Friday, 21 August:

When is Arsenal v Real Betis?

Arsenal’s pre-season friendly with Real Betis kicks off at 7:30pm BST on Wednesday 5 August at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.

How can I watch it?

After technical issues plagued the friendly against Girona that was being shown on Arsenal’s website and app, the clash with Real Betis will now not be shown on either platform and all supporters who bought access to either the Girona match or the whole pre-season bundle are entitled to a full refund, which you can find out about here.

Tonight’s match will be broadcast on Premier Sports 1 instead and UK residents have access to a Premier Sports discount, using the code: ARSENAL. The offer is only valid on the full retail price monthly subscription of £17.99. The offer is for three months for £9.99 total, where the customer is billed £3.33 per month for three months. From the fourth month onwards, the subscription will auto-renew monthly at £17.99, or the then-current standard retail price.

You can also follow the match live through The Independent’s minute-by-minute live blog.

Team news

Arteta has a defensive dilemma with Jurrien Timber dealing with an injury and William Saliba is out for several months with a back problem, while Ben White is managing his minutes post-injury.

Marli Ellis Salmon is one to watch, with the 16-year-old likely to feature at some point.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli watched on from the sidelines against Girona after returning to training and the Brazilians could feature here too.

Martin Odegaard could join the group soon, while Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice remain away after a run to the semi-finals with England at the World Cup.

Arsenal possible line-ups

Arsenal XI: Kepa; White, Mosquera, Hincapie, Calafiori; Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly, Havertz; Dowman, Jesus, Tzolis
