Following its phenomenal first season, Netflix’s gothic hit Wednesday was renewed for season 3 even before the second instalment was released. Eager to know what’s next for our beloved outcasts? Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming third season of the gothic supernatural series.

Season 1 of Wednesday premiered in 2022 and became the most-viewed English-language series of all time on Netflix. Season 2 was released in two parts (Part 1 on 6 August 2025 and Part 2 on 3 September 2025) and continued to explore darker, more complex stories while retaining the show’s signature macabre humour. Season 2 also expanded the Addams family universe, focussing more on Morticia (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (played by Luis Guzmán), and Pugsley (played by Isaac Ordonez).

Yes, it is. Netflix confirmed over the summer of 2025 that Wednesday would return for a third season. Co-creators and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar shared that their goal for season 3 is “to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday” and to introduce more Addams family members and long-held family secrets.

So far, there is no confirmed release date for season 3.

What could be the plot of season 3?

While specific plot details remain under wraps, co-creators Gough and Millar have hinted that season 3 will delve deeper than previous instalments into character development and the Nevermore universe. Fans can look forward to the introduction of intriguing new characters and a darker, more richly layered storyline.

Additionally, Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega) will continue to confront supernatural dilemmas, all the while trying to reconnect with her only best friend, Enid (played by Emma Myers).

Who will be in the Wednesday season 3 cast?

Returning cast members of the Netflix series include Jenna Ortega in the titular role, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, and Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair.

What happens in the season 2 finale?

In the season 2 finale, the Addams family rescues Pugsley from Isaac Night (played by Owen Painter), thwarting his dangerous machine. Wednesday regains her psychic powers after reconciling with Morticia. Enid sacrifices her human form to save Wednesday, disappearing into the wilderness. Meanwhile. Tyler’s future remains uncertain, caught between grief and the secret pack of Hydes.

The season concludes with Wednesday heading north alongside Uncle Fester (played by Fred Armisen), determined to find Enid, while experiencing a vision of Aunt Ophelia. Meanwhile, Grandmama Frump (played by Joanna Lumley) is seen entering a hidden chamber, where Ophelia ominously scrawls the words “Wednesday must die,” leaving several mysteries unanswered for season 3.
