BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The haze issue affecting several areas in the region is expected to be among matters discussed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, in conjunction with the 27th Malaysia-Brunei Annual Leaders’ Consultation (ALC-27).
Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Datuk Mohd Aini Atan said this matter will be one of the current issues of importance to both countries.
“As we know, the state of Sarawak is the most affected by this haze issue, and with the presence of Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, this issue will certainly be discussed,” he said during a press conference here today.
Anwar will make a two-day working visit to Brunei starting tomorrow to attend the 27th Malaysia-Brunei Annual Leaders’ Consultation (ALC-27).
This annual leaders’ consultation series serves as the highest-level bilateral mechanism between Malaysia and Brunei.
