Datuk Amaluddin suffered massive losses as floodwaters engulfed his home, leaving no time to safeguard his prized vehicles.

According to Sin Chew Daily, his collection, which included a Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Toyota Alphard, and Honda, was completely damaged as the waters rose rapidly.

“This area often experiences floods, so I wasn’t too worried when the water initially reached my doorstep. But then, it surged suddenly, flooding my home before I could react,” he shared.

Datuk Amaluddin could only watch in anguish as his beloved cars disappeared under the rising waters.

The devastation extended beyond Datuk Amaluddin’s vehicles. The flood completely destroyed the lower floor of his home, ruining sofas, electrical appliances, and other household items.

Nearly 250 homes affected

According to NST, heavy rainfall on Sunday, December 1, lasting over 20 hours, caused severe flooding in Ipoh’s Arena Kepayang Putra, affecting nearly 250 homes.

When the floodwaters finally receded, streets were covered in mud, debris, and discarded belongings, while residents scrambled to clear away waterlogged furniture and salvage whatever they could.
