Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Kinabalu Pink Ribbon Association held its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Sunday to address significant updates and improvements aimed at strengthening the governance and operations of the organisation.

The meeting focused on three critical areas that are updates to the constitution, the presentation of a restructured organisational structure, and the establishment of the Secretariat.

Among the key updates was the inclusion of “Sabah” in the Kinabalu Pink Ribbon logo, a change that reflects the organisation’s roots and commitment to the Sabah community.

A major change involved restructuring the Executive Committee to include 50pc non-members, a move aimed at ensuring good governance and impartiality.

Lucilla introduced and welcomed the new Executive Committee, who will spearhead the Association’s mission that are President Christy Fe Salazar, Deputy President, Yvonne Dumpangol, Honorary Secretary, Lim Syn Yee @ Gracie.

She also highlighted the newly established Secretariat, located at the Sabah Kinabalu Pink Ribbon main office on the 2nd Floor of Wisma Wanita Building.

The Secretariat serves as a central hub for administrative coordination and provides support for Sub-Committees, overseeing branch activities in Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Keningau and Tuaran.

The respective Sub-Committees were appointed to address key aspects of the Association’s mission that are raising breast cancer awareness through conducting outreach and education programs.

Patient support, by offering services and resources for individuals affected by breast cancer and administrative support by ensuring the efficient operation of the organisation.

Lucilla emphasised that these developments mark a significant step forward for Sabah Kinabalu Pink Ribbon, demonstrating its commitment to governance excellence and impactful outreach in the fight against breast cancer.
