Italy U21 coach Paolo Nicolato defended his players after their Euros elimination.
Italy's defeat to Norway yesterday sees them end their campaign in Georgia at the group phase.
It was a bit of a strange game, I have to say," Nicolato told RAI Sport.
The first half was good, we started well in the second, but conceded a silly goal. We tried to force the situation, there were chances we could've done better on. It didn't go the way we wanted.
Aside from the points, I think for the performances, we didn't get the results that we deserved. I know this is a brief tournament and incidents can be decisive, but I don't think the performances warranted just three points."
