The International Tennis Federation has rebranded as World Tennis.
The governing body, which oversees the lower levels of the game as well as the Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup and Olympic and Paralympic tournaments, was founded in 1913.
British chief executive Ross Hutchins said increased clarity and visibility was behind the move, adding: “It’s about clearly defining who we are. The ITF isn’t well known enough.”
As part of the change, World Tennis has set a target of increasing global participation from 106 million people playing the sport to 140 million by 2035.
