Kelantan Pas chief Mohamad Kamal Mohamed said he was surprised by the attitude of a few parties who associate every religious element, especially one involving Islam with terrorism.

"While at the time the Nijigen Expo 2023 costume parade from Comic Festival 2022 using armed anime costume in Kuala Lumpur did not shake (receive criticism from) anyone.

"The history of Islamic civilization in the past cannot be denied, like the war in Malaya before independence," he told Sinar today.

According to him, the existence of war and the wearing of such costumes are symbols of the glory of Islamic civilization.

He said if Malays are proud of daggers and spears, Islamic history extinguishes wars through swords, arrows, and horses.

The youth, as well as non-Muslims who have a sentimental value with war costumes, including young people influenced by comic book and anime characters, told their stories, which were then displayed in various parades.

"If this is allowed and no police report is made by the party supporting the government, what is wrong with the Pas Youth costume parade?

"Unfortunately, anything related to Islam will be plagued with violence," he said.

Yesterday, it was reported that Terengganu Pas Youth marched with replica of weapons during the Terengganu Islamic Youth Gathering (Himpit) 2023 on February 17, triggering various polemics on social media.

Meanwhile, Terengganu Police Chief Datuk Rohaimi Md Isa said they are probing the matter.
