Crystal Palace are pursuing Ciaran Clark from Newcastle United.
The Premier League side want to add more defenders to their squad before the season begins.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson is a fan of Clark and wants the 29-year-old on loan or permanently, according to The Sun.
Clark will provide cover in central defence, which Palace desperately need.
They are also in the market for a right back to replace Aaron Wan- Bissaka, with Nathaniel Clyne a possible target.
