UFC Freedom 250 was built to be more than a normal fight night. Staged at the White House, the card carried huge attention and averaged 7 million viewers in the United States.

Despite being an impressive number, it still fell short of what some expected from an event surrounded by that level of hype.

Jake Paul, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, noticed that quickly. Once the figures surfaced, he used them to aim a dig at Dana White’s promotion.

Paul posted an Instagram story dancing to a Drake song while comparing UFC Freedom 250 with MVP’s first MMA event on Netflix.

The comparison showed MVP’s debut MMA card averaging 9.3 million viewers, ahead of UFC Freedom 250’s 7 million.

Paul captioned the post: “1st event vs 329th event. Where’s y’all UFC?”

Still, the comparison needs context. Netflix is the world’s biggest streaming platform, giving MVP a huge distribution advantage.

On the other hand, UFC Freedom 250 streamed on Paramount+ rather than traditional broadcast television.

UFC Freedom 250 still broke major viewership marks

Even if the number did not match the hype, UFC Freedom 250 still delivered important records.

Its 7 million average beat UFC’s FOX debut from 2011, which averaged around 5.7 million viewers.
