PAPAR: KPDN has launched the Jalur Gemilang campaign in collaboration with Petronas, involving 4,320 petrol stations nationwide.
He said the campaign is part of the “One Home, One Jalur Gemilang” (1R1JG) initiative coordinated by the Department of Information Malaysia (Japen), under the Ministry of Communications.
“This campaign involves all Petronas petrol stations, nationwide as it covers all retail premises licensed under KPDN. The nationwide program also involves seven main clusters: education, higher education, health, security, community, industry, and government agencies,” he said.
To a question, Armizan said the Jalur Gemilang and the annual national celebrations are not solely government-owned programmes, but a shared legacy of all Malaysians.
“The flag and these celebrations belong to the people, not just the government. The Jalur Gemilang is our collective symbol, and it must be respected by every citizen,” he said.
He reminded that laws are already in place to safeguard the flag’s dignity.
“The legislation is clear. If incidents arise over how the flag is displayed, reports can be made and investigations will be carried out to determine whether they were intentional. If it is proven the misconduct is deliberately on purpose, the authorities will take firm action,” he added.
Armizan also called on Malaysians to embrace unity and patriotism throughout the National Month celebrations.
“One of the ways to express our love for the nation is by proudly flying the Jalur Gemilang – a flag that belongs to every one of us,” he said.
