The Jammu Police, in coordination with the district administration, on Wednesday demolished properties belonging to three alleged drug peddlers, collectively valued at around Rs 6 crore.

A police spokesperson said the action was taken against notorious drug peddlers and habitual offenders involved in multiple criminal cases, including those registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Arms Act and provisions of the IPC/BNS.

“The accused have been repeatedly involved in criminal activities such as narcotics trafficking, violent offences and organised crime, adversely affecting public order and creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the general public,” the spokesperson said.

The individuals whose properties were demolished were identified as Gulzar Ahmed, against whom 28 FIRs have been registered; Farman Ali, who faces eight FIRs; and Fareeda Bibi, who had earlier been booked under the NDPS Act. All three are residents of Waziru Chak village in the Bishnah area of Jammu district.

According to the police, the demolished properties were worth approximately Rs 6 crore. “The Jammu Police is committed to dismantling the drug network and creating a strong deterrent against criminals who have been involved in narcotics-related activities for a long time,” the spokesperson added.
