A video from Manali, Himachal Pradesh, has gone viral showing a massive traffic jam with vehicles lined up along a nearly 10-km stretch. The clip has triggered widespread discussion online.

The video was posted on X by user @iNikhilsaini who expressed frustration over the worsening situation in the region given the number of hours travellers had to spend hours stuck in traffic.

“What’s even the point of vacations if you’re stuck in 10 km traffic jams for hours? Really sad to see Himachal like this now," he wrote. He also advised travellers connected with him on X to postpone their trips for a few days, saying the experience currently felt “more like torture than a holiday."

The user further blamed the issue on uneven tourism promotion and a lack of long-term planning.

A user wrote, “I got stuck in Rohtang jam in 2016 as well. It’s just that we didn’t have X at that time. Things have been like this since ages" — suggesting that the problem was not new but had become more visible due to social media.

Another user blamed poor infrastructure and repetitive tourism patterns for the crisis. “Nikhil bhai, tourism ka matlab peace aur nature hota tha… ab Himachal ke kuch spots sirf moving parking lots ban gaye hain. Problem tourists nahi, planning hai. Har saal same 2-3 destinations ko itna push kiya gaya ki infrastructure collapse hone laga.

“Sad state. When should one plan to visit Manali? Summer Holidays is a big NO. This is the state of almost all the hill stations of India," a third reacted.

“The similar thing happened last year. When will people learn? Vacations are for leisure and to rewind not to stuck in traffic," wrote another.

“Jana bhi sabko ek hi jagah hai" said another.
