Jason Derulo criticised after installing ‘cruel’ underfloor shark tank in his living room

Jason Derulo is facing criticism after he installed an underfloor shark and stingray tank inside his California mansion.

As the singer was giving a house tour to Twitch streamer N3on last month, he showed off the unusual addition to his living room.

In the clip, which has been widely shared online, Derulo tells N3on that the $1million (£747,500) glass covered aquarium “took a lot” of money and time to create.

Many slammed Derulo for the “cruel” tank, which one social media user said “should absolutely be illegal”.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) also criticised Derulo. “When celebrities and influencers with millions of followers treat wild animals as interior design features, the consequences reach far beyond their living rooms,” it said in a statement.
