Jaylen Brown has weighed in on Drake’s latest release after the rapper dropped far more music than expected, releasing three albums last Friday.

The rollout included Iceman, Habibti and Maid Of Honour, totalling 43 tracks across almost two and a half hours. It followed the public fallout from Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar.

Brown said he had not formed a full opinion yet. However, he shared an early view that the Canadian rapper may be trying to close one stage of his career.

During his livestream last Sunday, Brown weighed in on Drakes latest drop and said: “Shoutout to Drake He’s been doing his thing, having a great career. His album just dropped. You know, I got more to listen to, I can’t even give y’all my full opinion.

“I gotta let it breathe. Maybe I’ll get back on chat and kind of let y’all know. But the songs that I heard were cool.”

The Celtics star then added: “But I feel like this whole album, he’s just trying to get to whatever the next part of his career is. I think he was just trying to get out of his deal, you know, move forward.

“So he just dumped a bunch of music with no context. And I would love to see artists paint and tell a story with their albums again. You know what I mean?

“Like from track one to the last track. Like creating a full piece. I feel like that era is not really emphasizing our era no more for real. But that’s just my thoughts. Take it with a grain of salt. Shoutout to Drake,” Brown concluded.

Drake also appears to aim a swipe at LeBron James

Drake’s new music also brought attention for an apparent reference to LeBron James in the song “Make Them Remember”. Reports linked lyrics from Iceman to the Los Angeles Lakers star.

“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up,” the Canadian rapper says in one of the potential digs to James.

The connection drew notice because James and Drake were once publicly close and their distance became a talking point after the 41-year-old supported Kendrick Lamar during the 2024 feud.
