SHAH ALAM - Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club (JDT) has announced its willingness to engage in discussions with all Malaysian League (Liga-M) teams to explore solutions for financial concerns recently raised by Selangor FC.

JDT chief executive officer (CEO) Luis Garcia said he was intrigued by a statement from Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon, who claimed to have the best formula to address the financial challenges affecting local football.

According to Garcia, a meeting involving all stakeholders and competing clubs should be held promptly in the interest of the nation’s sports industry.

“I was intrigued by Johan Kamal’s recent statement that he has a solution for financial issues in the Malaysia League.

“I believe it is appropriate to hold this discussion with all teams because we need to understand the ideas and solutions he intends to propose,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Commenting further, Garcia, who has extensive experience in world-class organisational management, said he wants to hear Johan Kamal’s ideas based on his experience in both local and international football.

“I have had the privilege of competing at the highest international levels and working with world-class organisations.

“Therefore, I am very keen to understand the solutions Johan has based on his extensive knowledge and experience. I hope that the discussion with all teams can be held in the near future,” he said.
