KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan spent more than five hours giving his statement to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at its Kota Kinabalu office on Thursday.
He arrived at 5.30pm and concluded his session at 11pm, with his team confirming that he had fully cooperated with investigators.
Political Secretary to Jeffrey, Anuar Ghani, in a statement on Friday, urged the public to allow the investigation to proceed without speculation and to respect the legal process.
He reminded that the state continues to face pressing challenges including Sabah rights on revenue entitlements, oil and gas resources, flood mitigation, food security and the wider effects of climate change.
Anuar warned against attempts to undermine the credibility of Sabah leaders, stressing that Sabahans themselves must decide their future leadership at the ballot box.
