TAMBUNAN: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) party leaders met on Wednesday night in the capital to decide the coalition’s political direction ahead of the looming state election, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan.
The meeting, which brought together all component party presidents, stressed that decisions on cooperation must prioritise the interests of Sabahans rather than narrow party agendas.
Jeffrey, also Star president, said seat allocations would be decided by a technical committee but warned he would reject any deal that went beyond what had already been agreed.
He added that if the arrangement was not honoured, Star and its ally PBS would consider contesting under their own logos instead of the GRS banner.
Jeffrey, speaking after attending a community development programme in Tambunan on Thursday, said discussions were still ongoing and a final decision would only be known in the coming days.
