JETOUR T2 i-DM Officially Launched In Malaysia: Rugged 265 kW Plug-In Hybrid SUV Arrives At RM162,800

JETOUR Malaysia has officially expanded its adventure-oriented SUV portfolio with the launch of the all-new JETOUR T2 i-DM.

Positioned as a rugged, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) that embodies the brand’s Travel+ philosophy, the T2 i-DM merges go-anywhere capability with long-distance electrified efficiency. Priced at RM162,800, the T2 i-DM combines a dedicated 1.5-litre turbocharged hybrid engine with dual electric motors and a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (3DHT), unlocking a total system output of 265 kW (360 PS) and 610 Nm of torque.

The setup delivers up to 1,200 km of combined driving range alongside more than 100 km of pure electric range, eliminating range anxiety for interstate road trips while offering zero-emissions commuting in town.

Intelligent Dual-Mode (i-DM) Hybrid Powertrain

At the mechanical core of the vehicle is JETOUR’s Intelligent Dual-Mode (i-DM) system, designed to dynamically shift across five distinct operating modes depending on driving loads:

• EV Drive: Uses pure electric power for quiet residential maneuvering and low-speed urban traffic.
• Series Hybrid: The petrol engine runs efficiently as an onboard generator to feed the electric traction motors.
• Dual Power Boost: Combines petrol and electric torque simultaneously for high-load hill climbs and brisk overtaking.
• Parallel Hybrid: Direct mechanical drive via the engine and motor optimizes sustained highway cruising speeds.
• Regenerative Braking: Captures kinetic energy during decelerations and steep descents to replenish the battery pack.

Energy is stored in an 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery housed inside a high-strength casing with heavy-duty underbody protection, high-temperature tolerance, and an IP68 water- and dust-resistant rating. The system also includes an integrated high-voltage rapid cutoff mechanism for impact scenarios and supports up to 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external power discharge for camping appliances.

Multi-Standard DC Fast and AC Charging

Unlike many plug-in hybrids that offer only slow AC replenishment, the JETOUR T2 i-DM features versatile charging options:

• 57 kW DC Fast Charging: Replenishes the battery from 30% to 80% state of charge in 27 minutes or less.
• 6.6 kW AC Wallbox Charging: Completes a 30% to 100% recharge in under three hours.
• 2.2 kW Portable AC Charging: Powers from 30% to 100% in six hours or less using a standard home domestic socket.

Boxy Adventure Styling and Tech-Loaded Cabin

The T2 i-DM retains the muscular design language of the standard T2, adding distinct exterior and interior refinements:

• Exterior Highlights: Auto LED headlamps with the illuminated “JETOUR” signature wordlight, 20-inch Trailblazer alloy wheels, reverse-tilt wing mirrors, and a rear-mounted spare wheel enclosure fitted to an electric soft-closing suction tailgate.
• Digital Cockpit: An expansive 15.6-inch touchscreen display with dedicated PHEV power-flow graphics, accompanied by a 50W cooled wireless charging dock and a 12-speaker Sony premium audio system.
• Interior Refinement: Features Cosmic Multicolour ambient lighting, an illuminated crystal gear selector, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, front ventilated seats, and an electric driver seat with position memory and welcome ingress slide functions.

Level 2 ADAS and Structural Safety
