
KOTA KINABALU: The Madani Village Development Committees (JKDM) should not be introduced and implemented in Sabah, said Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH).
“Just recently, the Sabah State Legislative Assembly passed an amendment to the Rural Administration Ordinance, which now gives the power and autonomy to the Sabah government to appoint and manage the administration of village committees such as the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) in Sabah,” said the Sabah PH Leadership Council in a statement, Saturday.
It added that every Sabah PH elected representative supported the Rural Administration Ordinance amendments, which aim to give the Sabah government autonomy to manage its affairs.
“We welcome any federal funding given to Sabah, especially for the development and benefit of the rural communities in Sabah.
