Write about what I’m learning and what I’m still trying to figure out.

Have you ever wondered why changing jobs makes people question your commitment? The moment you leave a company after a short period, people start asking questions. "Why didn't you stay longer?" "Are you not satisfied?" "Won't this look bad on your CV?"

But have we ever stopped to ask the other side of the question? What if staying is no longer helping us grow?

I find it interesting how we encourage people to chase their dreams, improve themselves, and aim for better opportunities, yet when they decide to leave a job for something better, suddenly, they are labelled as disloyal.

Isn't that a little contradictory?

I understand that commitment matters. Every company invests time, money, and effort into training its employees. Building experience takes patience, and not every opportunity will be perfect. Sometimes, we need to learn how to adapt, manage difficult situations, and work with people who think differently from us.

But I also believe that our careers should not become a place where we keep proving our loyalty while neglecting our own ambitions.

Imagine working hard every day, taking on additional responsibilities, and constantly improving yourself, only to realise that your growth has reached a limit. Do you stay because you are afraid of what people might think, or do you explore an opportunity that could take you further?

For me, there is no shame in wanting a better salary, a stronger career path, or an environment where your abilities are recognised. We have financial responsibilities, personal goals, and a future to prepare for. Work is part of our lives, but it should also help us build the life we want.

Of course, leaving every few months without understanding what we truly want can become a problem. Sometimes, the growth we are looking for requires patience, not another resignation letter.

Perhaps the real measure of a successful career is not how many years we spend in one company, but how intentionally we spend those years.

So, before judging someone for job hopping, maybe we should ask ourselves: are they running away from responsibility, or are they brave enough to recognise that they have outgrown where they are?

Because choosing a new beginning does not always mean you failed at the previous one. Sometimes, it simply means you are ready for something different
