Joe Rogan has assured Terence Crawford that any disrespect from the UFC was purely accidental.
The unbeaten boxer, who holds a 42-0 record, experienced a mix-up during UFC 306 back in September.
Crawford was shown on the big screen while sitting ringside at the Sphere in Las Vegas. But production staff incorrectly labelled him as Kendrick Lamar on the live broadcast, leading to plenty of confusion among viewers.
Joe Rogan pushes back against Terence Crawford’s theory

At the time, ‘Bud’ felt the Kendrick Lamar mix-up at UFC 306 was deliberate.
Even now, more than a year later, Crawford brought up the same point when he joined Joe Rogan’s podcast.
He said: “I think they did that on purpose. They had to. I was sitting next to everybody like, ‘Did they really just do that?’”
But the 58-year-old commentator was quick to dismiss that idea, confident it was just a simple mistake.
“No. No way. No way. No, no, no, it was just some moron in the truck,” he began by saying.
“No. 100 percent, they did not do that on purpose. No one in the UFC would ever disrespect you like that. No one would disrespect you like that. No chance.
“No, they did not do that on purpose. That was just some dumba– that thought that you were Kendrick Lamar for some reason.
“It was so stupid. And then I think they corrected it later in the broadcast.
“I don’t know who it was. I didn’t want to know. I’d yell at them.”
Terence Crawford explains retirement decision
Crawford became the undisputed champion in a third weight class after defeating Canelo Alvarez last September.
Three months after that historic victory, the 38-year-old boxing legend surprised many by announcing his retirement.
‘Bud’ has since reaffirmed his decision to retire and shared the reasons behind stepping away while still at the top of his game.
When Rogan asked if he was officially done, Crawford replied: “It’s over with.
“Since 2014, I’ve been fighting for something. I won my first world title in March 2014. Ever since then, I’ve been fighting for titles and undisputed. Now, if I come back, what’s the motivation? Just money? Okay, what is on top of that?
“I wanted to be remembered as one of the greatest champions of all time. I think I did that. This last fight I had, the height of it, there is no better finish than that, to me… You did everything right. So, what can top that?”
