- The 44-year-old will remain remanded in custody at HMP Liverpool until his trial begins in March 2027.
- Barton is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged assault on 51-year-old Kevin Lynch in Huyton on 8 March.
- The victim, a former non-league football manager, reportedly sustained serious eye injuries after drinking with Barton at Huyton and Prescot Golf Club.
- Barton appeared at the hearing via videolink and is next scheduled to attend a pre-trial hearing on 11 December.
