Johan Setia air quality worsens, API hits 148

SHAH ALAM, Sept 13 - Five areas across two states in the country recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 11am today. 

According to data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, Serian, Sarawak recorded the highest unhealthy reading at 183. 

It was followed by Sri Aman (170) and Samarahan (156), and Kuching (155) recorded. 

Meanwhile, Johan Setia, Selangor recorded the only unhealthy air quality in the state at 148, a significant increase in air quality from 9am today (95). 

A total of 54 areas recorded as healthy air quality with no areas recording very unhealthy in the country. 

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and readings above 300 hazardous.

API data is released hourly based on readings recorded at 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide.
