A video circulating online recently shows an e-hailing driver allegedly sexually harassing a female passenger, believed to have occurred in Johor.
The incident has sparked public outrage over the driver’s behaviour, as the video, which was recorded by the female passenger, appears to show the alleged harassment.

After the video went viral, Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Chief ACP Raub Selamat stated that no police report has been lodged regarding the incident so far, but efforts to track down the driver are ongoing, according to Berita Harian.
“Police have received a viral video on social media showing an e-hailing driver allegedly sexually harassing a woman inside a car. We are working to identify those involved, any witnesses, and the circumstances surrounding the incident,” he added.
Raub selamat
In a recent update reported by Sin Chew Daily, Raub Selamat confirmed that the driver has voluntarily surrendered to the police.
The driver, who is reportedly a teacher at a school in the district, has also been given a temporary leave of absence while awaiting further instructions from the Johor State Education Department, according to the school’s board chairman.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) has instructed the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to immediately revoke the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license of the e-hailing driver involved in the sexual harassment incident.
In a statement, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said that once the license is revoked, the driver will be barred from working on any e-hailing platform.
“MOT will not tolerate any behaviour that threatens passenger safety and is ready to support the victim in ensuring police action is taken against the perpetrator,” he said.
