THE Johor government has ordered a full investigation into the operations of Network School at Forest City after concerns were raised over alleged participation of Israeli nationals using passports from another country.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the state government viewed the matter seriously and would ensure that all relevant authorities conduct detailed checks involving security, immigration and regulatory compliance.
He stressed that Johor would not permit any organisation or group to use the state as a platform for activities or ideologies that conflict with Malaysian laws, sovereignty and national interests.
"The Johor government will not allow any party to make this state a platform to bring in ideologies or movements that are contrary to the laws, sovereignty and interests of Johor and Malaysia," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The state government has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration Department of Malaysia, Royal Malaysia Police, Royal Malaysian Customs Department and relevant security agencies to carry out comprehensive investigations into key areas.
The review will examine the identities and nationalities of individuals involved, travel documents including the alleged use of second passports, the types of passes issued, the purpose of entry into Malaysia and whether declared reasons for entry correspond with actual activities carried out.
The Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Digital and other relevant regulatory bodies have also been asked to establish the actual status of Network School's operations and determine whether the programme requires registration, approval or regulatory compliance under Malaysian law.
At the state level, the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP), Johor Land and Mines Office and related agencies will conduct further assessments on matters within their jurisdiction.
These include compliance with premises licensing requirements, building usage conditions, land regulations, accommodation arrangements, business activities and other applicable legal requirements.
Onn Hafiz said decisive action would be taken if investigations reveal any violations, including immigration offences, misuse of entry permits, breaches of licence conditions, non-compliance with land requirements or any activities deemed detrimental to state interests and national security.
"If investigations find any violation of the law, misuse of passes, breaches of licence conditions or land requirements, or any elements that could affect the interests of the state and national security, the Johor government urges strict action to be taken by the authorities without compromise," he said.
The Menteri Besar added that the state government would continue to act responsibly and within the framework of the law to protect Johor's interests and uphold Malaysia's sovereignty. - July 14, 2026
