POLICE have urged victims and witnesses with information on an alleged bullying incident in Jalan Mewah, Kampung Melayu Majidee, to lodge reports to assist ongoing investigations, following the circulation of a video on social media.

Johor Bahru South district police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said police became aware of a viral recording alleging that a bullying incident took place at the location shortly after midnight.

However, he said no official police report has been lodged so far.

According to him, the police view the allegations seriously as they involve public safety and may contain elements of criminal conduct that could warrant legal action.

“Preliminary investigations are being carried out to determine the authenticity of the viral recording and to identify the individuals involved. Police are also working to trace witnesses who were present at the scene,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Raub stressed that public cooperation is crucial to ensure appropriate action can be taken against those responsible if the incident is confirmed to have occurred.

In this regard, victims, family members or anyone with relevant information have been urged to come forward to lodge a report at the nearest police station or contact the Johor Bahru South district police headquarters to provide information.

Earlier, Kosmo! reported on a viral closed-circuit television recording linked to an alleged bullying incident involving several children, believed to have taken place in a residential area along Jalan Mewah, Kampung Melayu Majidee, at about 12.39am.

The 23-second CCTV footage circulating online appears to show at least four children involved in the incident against a suspected male child victim.

The video shows reflections of firelight believed to have been sprayed towards the victim, who is seen lying on the ground with his hands bound.

Moments later, three of the individuals are seen approaching the victim before lifting him in a weakened state.

Another child appears to act as a lookout, or “cover line”, during the incident. - February 8, 2026
