
Kota Kinabalu: Lions Clubs International District 308-A2 Regions 6 and 7 recently held a joint installation ceremony for 23 new presidents and individual club officers for the 2023-2024 term.
The event took place at the Sabah International Convention Centre and also included the installation of their board of director members.
District Governor Kapitan Ronny Hiew Ah Choi witnessed the installation ceremony, which was presided over by Lanice Fo, President of Lions Club Tanjung Aru.
In his speech, Hiew commended the joint effort of the 23 clubs, highlighting the importance of networking, developing friendship, learning new skills, and gaining knowledge from each other.

Read more He said that every Lions Club supports a range of good causes and projects, covering Lions International’s global causes, such as diabetes, childhood cancer, hunger, vision, disaster relief, environment, youth and humanitarian efforts.
Hiew emphasised that when clubs come together in partnership, the team becomes stronger and can serve more people in the community.
He said that good teamwork can accomplish many things by empowering each other to amplify the Lions’ service to those in need.
Hiew expressed confidence in Lions collectively facing future challenges due to their spirit of service to the community.
Additionally, 1st Vice District Governor Annie Ho during the ceremony inducted 63 new Lions members from 14 clubs.
Each new member officially received their Lions vest from sponsoring members.
Organising Chairperson Kennard Koh, who is the President of Lions Club KK Downtown, leads the 23 Lions Clubs.
The clubs include Inanam Sabah, Keningau Mandarin, Keningau Downtown, Kota Belud, KK Asia City, KK Capital, KK Centennial, KK Central, KK City, KK Damai, KK Downtown, KK Lintas, KK Metro, KK Vintage, KK Waterfront, Kota Marudu, New Century Star City, Papar Host, Penampang Hongkod, Penampang Host, Ranau, Tanjung Aru and Tuaran.
The installation ceremony were attended by various dignitaries, including District Governor Partner in Service Past President Chee Suk Fun, GAT Area Leader MD 308 and District 309 Past District Governor Eve Wong, Immediate Past District Governor Kapitan Connie Loh, 1st Vice District Governor Annie Ho, and 2nd Vice District Governor Dato’ Winnie Lee.
Lions dignitaries from Sarawak, Brunei, Labuan, and Taiwan were also present.
