PETALING JAYA: Parties supporting the government are expected to sign a joint agreement to strengthen Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s administration tomorrow.

This was confirmed by Warisan president Shafie Apdal, who said he would attend the meeting to sign the agreement with Pakatan Harapan and its allies in the unity government.

“This is our priority,” he was quoted as saying in a Berita Harian report, although he did not elaborate on the details.

He urged all parties to come together to resolve issues faced by the people and reduce politicking.

Before this, Barisan Nasional secretary-general Zambry Abdul Kadir had said the final draft of the joint agreement would be completed soon.

Shafie, the Semporna MP, also expressed confidence that Anwar would obtain the support needed from the majority of MPs ahead of the vote of confidence in the Dewan Rakyat next Monday.

Warisan, which has three MPs including Shafie, is among the parties that formed the PH-led unity government. The others are BN, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, and several independent candidates and small parties.
