Jon Jones has publicly reacted after Dana White insisted the former UFC champion was never considered for the promotion’s event at the White House.

The discussion emerged after the 56-year-old businessman addressed speculation surrounding the UFC Freedom 250 card during the UFC 326 post fight press conference.

White dismissed the idea that Jones had ever been in the plans for the event, saying: “Never ever, which I told you guys 100,000 times, was Jon Jones even remotely in my mind to fight at the White House.”

Jones quickly responded on X with a series of posts before later deleting them, although screenshots circulated widely among fans.

“I’m released from the UFC?!” the 38-year-old wrote (via Bloody Elbow), reacting to the narrative surrounding the situation.

The former two-division champion also suggested he may end up taking the blame for the breakdown in talks.

“I’ll be the fall guy.

“If I would prove [White] wrong, would I be wrong? Or would I be the bigger man by remaining silent?

“So all of this negotiating was complete bulls—, is that what you want me to agree to publicly?”

Jones’ reaction also aligns with reporting that the UFC did hold discussions about placing him on the White House card.

Ariel Helwani recently stated that the promotion made an attempt to book the former two-weight champion for the event but that both sides could not agree on financial terms.

“I’ll tell you this: they did seriously try to have Jon Jones on this card, and they couldn’t get to the number,” he said.
