Lone’er Kavanagh had a night to remember at UFC Mexico City.

The flyweight prospect pulled off an impressive win over former two-time champion Brandon Moreno.

To top it all off, the 26-year-old also took home a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

Kavanagh’s night got even better when he picked up the phone to find Jon Jones on the other end of the line.

Footage from the moment captured the Englishman’s disbelief as Jones praised his performance.

“Oh s—! Yes, Jon. Ay, that’s sick! I’m a big fan,” Kavanagh said when he first saw ‘Bones’ on FaceTime.

Jones replied: “Hey, congratulations. Your Muay Thai is beautiful.”

Kavanagh struggled to find words and admitted to feeling a bit overwhelmed by speaking with the former two-weight UFC champion.

“Thank you, sir. I don’t know what to say. I’m starstruck right now,” he stated.

Jones continued: “Bro, your kicks, they don’t show at all. They have no telegraph. It’s so nice.

“Good job, guys. Congratulations.”

Kavanagh laughed as the call concluded, then turned to address his team: “Ay, Jon Jones likes my kicks.”

Lone’er Kavanagh’s standing in the UFC flyweight division

Despite his impressive win over Moreno, Kavanagh still has more to prove before he can talk about a title shot.

Champion Joshua Van is set to put his belt on the line against Tatsuro Taira at UFC 327 on April 11.

Alexandre Pantoja is likely next in line for a shot at the title once he recovers from the arm injury that cost him his championship at UFC 323 back in December.

Manel Kape and Kyoji Horiguchi are also both pushing hard for their own opportunities at flyweight gold.

Kavanagh will probably need to beat one of those names if he wants to be in title conversations by 2026.
