Jordan Spieth played fantastically well on day one of the Cadillac Championship on Thursday.
Spieth has been in the golfing doldrums now for far too long, with his last PGA Tour win coming in April 2022.
However, there have been signs that he is slowly inching his way back to his best.
Jordan Spieth thrilled the galleries on day one of the Cadillac Championship on Thursday, as he made an eagle and seven birdies on his way to shooting a round of seven-under-par 65.

Spieth said the Blue Monster at Trump National Doral would provide a real test for the players this week.
However, the scoring was surprisingly low on day one, with Spieth currently sitting one shot adrift of the first round leader, Cam Young.
Jordan Spieth says how close he is to his 2015 form after shooting 65 at Doral
Spieth was asked how close he believes he is to rediscovering the form he showed consistently in 2015.
“I don’t remember how I felt (in 2015) necessarily,“ Spieth said.
“I just remember I couldn’t carry any of the bunkers, so I was frustrated. Now I can hit it a little further.
“But the tees are moved back.
“I’m almost there. I feel, you know, in all facets of the game. I felt pretty consistent.

“I feel like I’ve been getting better each month.
“In order to make the swings I want to make, they’re a little more challenging than I’d like.
“But I know the path forward. It gives me confidence because I know that I should be inching closer each week.
“And so I just have to stay the course.
“It may feel a little uncomfortable, but I leaned into it, like today, we’re certainly upping the confidence to lean into what I’m doing.“
Jordan Spieth’s stats on day one at Doral
All facets of Spieth’s game were in fine working order on day one in Miami.
He ranked 22nd in strokes gained off the tee and fourth in strokes gained approach.
The Dallas native was ranked second in strokes gained around the greens and 22nd in strokes gained putting.
Spieth was ranked second in strokes gained overall on day one at Doral, behind only Cam Young.
He is clearly close to rediscovering his very best form, but getting over the line and winning again will obviously not be easy.
