Jose Maria Gimenez is delighted with his new deal at Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguay defender has penned a contract to 2028 with Atletico.
Gimenez said, "Many emotions, sensations. Obviously they are all very good. It's a lifetime, I came when I was 18, now I see the sign until 2028. There are many years where there were many good moments and others not so good. In which I always felt identified, I grew a lot, I learned a lot.
"I learned that the union of Atltico, the communion, knowing that Atltico is more than a team, more than a club, is something that cannot be described. The immense joy that I have and my family has.
"Personally, I want to continue along the same lines that identified me until now and brought me here. I leave my soul in every game. The Atltico fan knows what this shirt means to me and what I gave up for it."
