MANILA, Philippines — Miss Philippines Earth 2025 Joy Barcoma has stepped away from the popular Filipino comedy and pop culture podcast “Dogshow Divas,” saying she is choosing to “protect my peace” after reading comments about her guest appearances on the show.
Barcoma announced her decision on social media on Monday, saying she had been grateful for the opportunities to join podcasts whenever her schedule allowed but clarified that the frequency of her appearances was not something she personally controlled.
“Today, I’ve decided to step away from Dogshow Divas,” Barcoma said.
“Nabasa ko ang comments about my guestings. I’ve always been grateful whenever I’m invited to join podcasts when my schedule allows, but how often I appear isn’t something I personally control,” she added.
Barcoma thanked those who supported her and the podcast but said she would prioritize her well-being moving forward.
“Grateful ako to everyone who supported us, but for now, I’m choosing to protect my peace,” she said. “All the best to Dogshow Divas!”
“Dogshow Divas” also responded to Barcoma’s announcement with a message of appreciation, addressing her by her nickname, Jusa.
“Maraming salamat, Jusa! Super grateful ang buong Dogshow Divas family for all the time, energy, tawanan, at kalokohan you’ve shared with us,” the podcast said.
“We will never condone or tolerate hate in any form. Your peace and well-being should always be protected,” it said.
The podcast added that Barcoma had been a “special part” of its journey and said its members would continue to support her.
“Thank you for being such a special part of this beautiful journey. We will always be rooting for you, Jusa!” the statement read.
“Nothing but love for the incomparable Joy Barcoma. We’ll always be rooting for you, JUSA,” the podcast captioned its post.
Co-host Macoy Dubs likewise thanked Barcoma for her contributions to the show, writing, “Thank you Joy, for the time and effort sa DSD.”
“Dogshow Divas” is hosted by content creators Baus Rufo and Macoy Dubs. The podcast is known for its unscripted and improvisational conversations about corporate life, pop culture, nostalgia, Filipino internet trends and everyday situations.
The title refers to the Filipino internet slang “dogshow,” which is commonly used to describe playful teasing, satirical mocking or lighthearted chaos.
Dubs is known for his viral corporate personas and comedic sketches, while Rufo is a content creator and former corporate advertising professional. The podcast regularly features local celebrities, comedians and fellow content creators as guests.
Barcoma had frequently appeared as a guest co-host on the program before announcing her departure.
Outside the podcast, Barcoma continues to pursue work in entertainment. She is currently seen as a guest host on the morning program “Unang Hirit,” where she works alongside Rufo.
Barcoma was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2025 and has since expanded her television and digital media appearances.
