Kota Kinabalu: Joyce Heng won the women’s title at the 1st Chainblock Strongest Men and Women Borneo Open 2022 held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei on Sunday.
She pocketed the winning prize of 1,500 Brunei dollars with a total of 125 points accumulated, well ahead of second placed Alinawati Haji Ali Akbar from Brunei who only managed 84 points while in third place was Norsyairah Suhaili also from the host country with 81 points.
Joyce, when contacted on Sunday, was delighted with the latest win following her triumph at the Jakarta Sports Week Festival in Senayan City in September. “I am really happy with this win. Although the competition was tough, I was very confident of my ability.
“This will be my last competition this year. I had also participated in the KL International Masters Athletics Championship earlier this month and I really need to take a break in preparation for next year’s schedule,” she said.
Meanwhile, the men’s title was won by Perak’s Choo Kok Wei with 125 points followed by Brunei’s Md Hamizan (86) and Pg Roslannie (82).
