MANILA, Philippines -- Reinhard Jumamoy drained the off-the-glas game winning trey as National University survived University of Santo Tomas' fightback in overtime, 87-85, in the UAAP Season 89 men's basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Saturday.
Down by a point in the last 5.3 seconds, Jumamoy pulled up the go-ahead basket against the defense of Mark Llemit with 0.5 ticks left.
Mo Diassana then preserved the win for the Bulldogs after blocking Amiel Acido's last-gasp trey, denying the Growling Tigers who came back from 15 points down.
NU improved to 4-2 for second place in the standings while UST dropped to 2-3 for second to last spot in the 8-team league.
