Junior golf events to be held together

Kota Kinabalu: The 20th SGCC Junior Open this year will be held together with the SGA (Sabah Golf Association) Junior Tour 4th leg tournament at Sabah Golf and Country Club on August 29-30.

The junior open tournament is the club’s event to encourage juniors to excel in the sport and also as a platform for SGCC’s juniors under their development programme to showcase their skills.

As for the junior tour initiated by SGA, three out of six legs have been completed in Sandakan, Tawau and Keningau to date.

Tournament director and club captain Ng Loong Fah said they are targeting more than 100 entries.

The competition is divided into Group A (16-18 years old), Group B (13-15 years old) and Group C (10-12 years old).

Valid WHS (World Handicap System) handicaps are compulsory except for Group C where exemption can be obtained with recommendation letters from the club captain/professional coach.
