This early, the girls volleyball team of the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta is already gearing up for another title run next year in NCAA Season 102.

Junior Lady Altas coach Sandy Rieta, who was also named Coach of the Year in the just-concluded Season 101, said the team’s core remains intact for Season 102 with only team captain and setter Jasmine Monte graduating from senior high school on April 15.

Rieta said that Monte will be elevated to seniors team in college and will be included in the pool of players of the Lady Altas, who recently defeated the San Beda Lady Red Spikers in the battle for bronze.

For beating Season 100 champion Arellano University in the best-of-three finale, Perpetual Help received the elegant glass trophy as Season 101 girls volleyball victor.

Also receiving individual awards were Best Libero Janine Espiritu, Best Setter Jasmine Monte, Best Opposite Hitter Sherrie Rose Acosta, Best Middle Blocker Ramiel Panganiban and Finals Most Valuable Player Elizha Sildo.

Catherine Chu of Arellano U was named Season 101 MVP.

Rieta said Acosta, Panganiban, Sildo, Isabel Baser and Janine Espiritu still have one more year of NCAA eligibility before moving up to the collegiate ranks.

The Junior Lady Altas also have some new recruits whom Rieta will announce in due time.

For now, Perpetual Help will celebrate its second girls volleyball championship in three years.
