JustGo’s number-plate toll payment now works at the Penang Bridge too

JustGo has just filled in the one gap it left behind. PLUS’s number-plate toll payment system now works at the Penang Bridge, the spot that was left out when the service went live across the rest of the network last month.

That’s worth noting, because when JustGo rolled out across the entire North-South Highway in August, the Penang Bridge was the clear exception, with PLUS only saying support would follow soon. Now it has.

With the bridge added, here’s where you can use JustGo:

• The North-South Expressway
• The Butterworth-Kulim Expressway
• The Seremban-Port Dickson Highway
• The Second Link Expressway (LINKEDUA)
• The Penang Bridge, newly added

Do keep one exception in mind. Over at the Bandar Cassia toll plaza on the Second Penang Bridge, JustGo only works on the RFID lane marked with a red dot, rather than any lane you like.

If you’re new to JustGo, it works by reading your car’s number plate as you drive through and charging the card linked to your account, so you don’t need an RFID tag or Touch ’n Go card. To set it up, just download the JustGo app, register your number plate and link a payment card.

A couple of simple things can help make sure it works smoothly. Keep your number plate clean, secure and clearly visible, and make sure nothing is blocking it since the system relies on the camera being able to read the plate properly. If a charge notification only comes through some time after your trip, it may simply be a delayed transaction being processed rather than an error. You can always check the details in the app if you’re unsure.
