PLUS Malaysia has rolled out its JustGo automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) toll payment system across the entire North-South Highway (PLUS). The system allows toll payments to be made automatically as a camera reads the vehicle’s number plate, similar to those used at mall carparks.
The full rollout connects the central and southern sections with the northern stretch, covering the North-South Expressway from Sungai Dua in Penang to Kempas in Johor. The Penang Bridge is not included for now, although PLUS says support will be added soon. Meanwhile, on the Second Penang Bridge, JustGo is already available at the Bandar Cassia toll plaza via the RFID lane marked with a red dot.

Getting set up is straightforward. First, download the JustGo app on Android or iOS and create an account. You’ll then need to register your vehicle’s number plate and upload a copy of your vehicle ownership certificate, which can be obtained digitally through the MyJPJ app. You’ll also need to link a debit or credit card to the JustGo app for toll payments.
Once everything is set up, you can simply drive through any available lane and the toll will be charged to your linked card automatically. That “lane freedom” is one of JustGo’s main selling points, as unlike Touch ‘n Go’s RFID, you’re not tied to a specific lane. There’s also no physical tag to install or upfront cost to worry about.
This has been a gradual build-up rather than an overnight switch. JustGo kicked off in January as a pilot along the 87.7km Hutan Kampung to Sungai Dua stretch in the north. It then expanded to Jitra and the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway in June, followed by the southern plazas around Kempas and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (Linkedua) in July. Now, the system covers the entire highway as part of the longer-term move towards Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) tolling, the barrier-less setup the government has been working towards.
For now, JustGo simply gives highway users another way to pay tolls alongside existing options such as Touch ’n Go cards, SmartTag and RFID. All of these payment methods will continue to work as usual, so users can choose whichever option suits them best.
If you’d like to give it a try, you can download the JustGo app from the App Store or Google Play, or head to their website here for more details.
