The veteran tournament with the slogan ‘Health, Friendship and Happiness’ was jointly organised by the Women’s Bureau and the Local Football Bureau of the Mimpaagat Tokou Sabah Recreation Club (KRMTS) in collaboration with Jesselton Medical centre (JMC) to commemorate World Mental Health Day.
Organising chairwoman Annie Joe, expressed her deepest appreciation to all the teams that competed, the sponsors and the volunteers who worked hard to make the tournament a success.
According to her, the Mimpaagat Mental Health Invitational Charity Trophy tournament is planned to be an annual KRMTS event.
In the future, the organisers intend to attract more teams to expand the charitable impact and further strengthen the message of the importance of mental health among the community.
Meanwhile, the proceeds from the tournament were presented to two charitable organisations in a ceremony officiated by JMC’s Deputy Medical Director Dr Warren Foo on Sunday.
The recipients were the Sabah Psychiatric Welfare Association, represented by Dr. Ryna Imma Buji, and the Faith Caring Home, represented by Pastor Chong Su Kang.
