Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Karate Association (SKA) will be sending a 36-member team to compete in the Shotokan Open Championship 2026 to be held at the Indoor Stadium, Kompleks Sukan Negara Hassanal Bolkiah, Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei from May 30-June 1.
The contingent led by team manager Irnamirzah Abraham comprising of 18 females and 18 males.
Secretary general Julian Chin said they are not setting any target in the latest outing from the state body as their focus is more on exposure rather than outcomes.
They are our third-tier athletes. We only want them to produce their best in the competition because the main purpose is to give them exposure and hopefully will allow them to develop their skill and confidence as they continue their journey,” he said.
