Deputy Commissioner Anand Kumar Sharma on Friday inspected various projects being executed under the Smart City Mission and directed the concerned agencies to expedite the work and ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects.
Accompanied by officials from the Smart City project and the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), the DC inspected the construction of the elevated flyover stretching from Haryana Nursing Home to Club Market via Maharishi Valmiki Chowk.
During the inspection, representatives of the executing agency informed Sharma that nearly 80 per cent of the flyover work had been completed. Although the project is scheduled to be completed by January 2027, the agency expressed confidence that it would finish the work two to three months ahead of schedule.
Officials said the two elevated flyovers, being constructed using single-pillar technology, are being developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 128 crore and will have a combined length of 3.280 km. A total of 85 pillars have been erected for the project. Of the total length, approximately 900 metres stretch from Maharishi Valmiki Chowk to Club Market, while the remaining 2,380 metres extend from Haryana Nursing Home to the District Library.
