
Kota Kinabalu: Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri on Sunday launched the Sabah leg of the 2026 Kasihnita programme.
The programme aims to empower single mothers through legal literacy, financial management and psychosocial support, in line with its focus on legal, financial and personal development.
The 2020 Malaysia Population and Housing Census by the Department of Statistics recorded 29,232 single mothers in Sabah out of 341,784 nationwide.
This year’s Sabah edition drew 684 applications, with 150 participants shortlisted.
