Kate Middleton wears the chocolate brown trench coat on everyone’s wishlist

Autumn is a tricky season to dress for. It’s not quite cold enough to pull out the winter coat, nor is it warm enough to go out sans any outerwear. But, as ever, the Princess of Wales has proven a sartorial inspiration during a recent visit to the Isle of Bute.

The prince and princess spent time with members of the local community and spoke to those helping to protect the environment on the island, taking part in a beach clean and a game of hockey.

For the occasion, Kate nailed transitional dressing and embraced country style, opting for a polished, tonal look. The star of the show was her brown Burberry trench coat, styled with Holland Cooper’s Jodhpur jeans, olive-green roll-neck jumper and suede ankle boots.

Known for popularising the trench in the late 19th century for military use, Burberry is the purveyor, with its designs among the most sought-after – and no doubt the chocolate brown trench will be on everyone’s autumn/winter wishlist.
