KOTA KINABALU: Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) deputy president Datuk Wetrom Bahanda has denied holding any discussions on forming a new political alliance in Sabah, including with Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
He dismissed reports claiming that KDM was in talks to join the proposed Gerakan Bersatu Sabah (GBS), saying the party remains committed to contesting solo in the upcoming state election in line with grassroots sentiment.
Earlier reports suggested that STAR and Parti Progresif Sabah (SAPP) were forming GBS and that Jeffrey had spoken to several local party leaders, including Wetrom, about joining the bloc.
However, Wetrom reiterated that KDM had not been involved in any such discussions.
