Outstanding summonses and other offences

Checks found that the MPV had more than 20 outstanding AES summonses amounting to over RM6,000.

When questioned by officers, the driver gave an excuse, claiming that the summonses “only showed up” in 2026.

The vehicle was also found to be without valid road tax and insurance coverage.

Despite the excuse, JPJ officers still issued summonses and a seizure order for the vehicle at the scene.

“JPJ stressed that fleeing or attempting to hide a vehicle will not stop authorities from taking action against owners who fail to comply with road laws,” the department added.
