Graphic Era celebrates academic excellence at convocation ceremony

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi on Sunday urged students to continuously update their knowledge and skills while addressing the 13 convocation ceremony of Graphic Era Deemed University in Dehradun.

Calling the 21 century “India’s century”, Joshi said the youth would play the biggest role in building a developed India. He highlighted the country’s rapid growth in areas such as science, technology, innovation and startups, adding that progress was possible only through continuous learning.

Praising Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, Joshi said the institution had evolved into a globally recognised centre for innovation and research. Uttarakhand Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said education was vital for personality development and nation-building.

During the ceremony, Dr. R.C. Ghanshala was conferred an honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) degree for contributions to social service, organic farming and renewable energy.

The university awarded degrees to 3,691 students, including 34 PhD scholars. A total of 57 students received gold medals, while 58 received silver and 55 bronze medals. Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh said the university secured the 48 rank in the 2025 National Institutional Ranking Framework.
